A contemporary artist and naturalist hailing from Geralton, Ontario, Kayla Humphreys grew up surrounded by the pristine nature of Northern Ontario. With an art teacher for a father and a biology teacher for a mother, Kayla's home life was a blend of creativity and scientific curiosity. She furthered these interests through the pursuit of an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Ottawa in 2017, and a Certificate of Natural Science Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2024.

Kayla's art sparks a wonder of the natural world through impressionistic realism. She seeks to introduce her viewers to naturalism, urging them to ask "why" the world is the way it is. Her work reflects her relentless curiosity and desire to inspire a broader interest in science.
By blending artistic talent with her passion for nature, Kayla creates pieces that not only captivate but also educate, fostering a deeper connection between people and the world we live in.
